Our Community

Fab Lab Tulsa is proud to call the historic Kendall-Whittier neighborhood home. Since our founding, we have been deeply connected to this vibrant community and its ongoing transformation through education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunity.

Fab Lab Tulsa is both a member of the Kendall Whittier district and a longtime community partner of Kendall Whittier, Inc. Together with neighborhood residents, businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations, we are helping create opportunities that strengthen the local economy and improve quality of life throughout the area.

Kendall-Whittier is one of Tulsa's most distinctive and culturally rich neighborhoods. Known for its creative energy and entrepreneurial spirit, the district features a diverse collection of art studios, galleries, restaurants, breweries, music venues, creative businesses, and locally owned retail establishments. The neighborhood is home to Tulsa's oldest independent theater, a growing arts community, production and print studios, and a variety of unique businesses including independent bookstores, vintage shops, florists, and specialty retailers.

The district is also recognized as Tulsa's unofficial brewery district, a center of Hispanic culture, and the home of the Tulsa Farmers' Market. These assets contribute to a dynamic environment where creativity, culture, and community come together. In recognition of its cultural significance, Kendall-Whittier has been designated as one of only seven Oklahoma Certified Cultural Districts by the Oklahoma Arts Council.

Since opening in 2011, the lab has worked alongside community partners to support neighborhood revitalization through educational programming, workforce development, entrepreneurship support, and access to advanced manufacturing and digital fabrication technologies.
