Made At Fab Lab Tulsa: Propulsion Car
Congratulations to the Keepin'-It-Rollin Team from Monte Cassino for making it to the Destination Imagination Global Finals. Their propulsion cars were fabricated at the lab using the laser cutter.
A team of Tulsa elementary students is headed to Knoxville, Tenn., on Wednesday to participate in a tournament that's been dubbed the "Olympics of creativity."
More than 15,000 people will attend the Destination Imagination Global Finals on May 22-25, with about 1,100 teams from 13 countries participating in the event.
Seven of those will be Monte Cassino fifth-graders who are competing in the technical challenge with the car propulsion system they designed.
The students built the car - it took three designs until they were happy with the result - with cardboard, adding skids on the sides to stabilize it and an eraser taped to the top to weigh it down so it won't veer off track.
